What we check — and what we don't
SlabHub is a place to show slabs you own, at one address you keep. It is not a shop and not a middleman. Everything below is written so you can decide how much a badge on this site is worth before you rely on it.
The three things people mix up
Almost every argument about trust online comes from treating these as one thing. They are not, and we never merge them.
PSA's own picture of the card, where there is one
For many certificate numbers PSA holds its own photographs of the card. Where they exist we fetch them and show them beside the seller's, labelled as PSA's. Every listing also carries its certificate number, linked to PSA's record, so you can read the grade at the source. We are not the source — PSA is.
A badge saying the certificate exists
There used to be a CERT VERIFIED badge here. It meant only that PSA had a record for that number — which is true of every number printed on every slab, including one copied off somebody else's photograph. Sellers and buyers both told us it read as a guarantee of something it never checked, so it is gone. The certificate number and the link to PSA remain, and say exactly as much without dressing it up as an endorsement.
That this seller owns that slab
Certification numbers are public. Anyone can type one in, and a certificate number proves nothing about who is holding the slab. The signal for that is photographs of the actual slab, in hand — which is why we ask for them and why you should want them.
That the Instagram account is theirs — unless it says so
A seller types their own Instagram handle. By default we check only that it is a valid handle, not that they control it — treat it as something they told us. Where you see Instagram confirmed, one of us has spoken to that seller on that account and satisfied ourselves it is theirs. That is a check on identity: who they are. It says nothing about the slabs, and nothing about whether they are safe to deal with.
That a buyer confirmed a deal happened
"Confirmed by buyers" means someone on the other side of a deal opened a link and said yes, it happened. It does not mean we saw money move — we never do. We are not in the transaction.
What SlabHub is not
We are not a party to any deal. We take no payment, hold no funds, run no escrow, ship nothing, and charge no commission on anything agreed between two people. Deals happen in your own messages, on your own terms, at your own risk. If a deal goes wrong, it is between the two of you — we can show what was listed and when, and that is the limit of it.
We also do not price anything, value anything, authenticate anything ourselves, or vouch for anyone. Grades come from PSA. Prices come from sellers.
Before you send money
Ask for photographs of the slab in hand, next to something written today. Check the certification number yourself at psacard.com. Be more careful with a page that was last updated months ago than one updated this week — every vault says which it is. And if something looks wrong, tell us: the report button is on every vault page.
Your data
We are hosted in the EU (Frankfurt). You can download everything we hold about you at any time from your account, and you can have it deleted. Details, including how to ask for deletion and how fast we answer, are in the privacy policy. The terms say the same thing about our role as this page does, in the language lawyers prefer.
